This is a chronology of my writings in print, beginning with the new and now, and taking you back to the oldies but goodies. I like to think of it as my author version of a discography! Closet Monsters: Zombied Out and Tales of Gothrotica My first collection features a full-length horror novella and gothic erotic stories. These men in heat come face-to-face with ghosts, vampires, werewolves, evil priests, homophobic daddies, serial killers, and of course…zombies.
And, the reviews are in...
“Fusing the gay and the ghoulish, the dandy and the dangerous, the well-crafted fractured-fairy tales in CLOSET MONSTERS will captivate and stimulate you. Get this book of new gothrotica, sit down, and keep a moist towel handy, because Daniel W. Kelly's stories will make you tent your pants while scaring the crap out of you. This is definitely going to get messy.” –Ron Suresha, editor, Bear Lust, and Bi Guys
"Closet Monsters is a wonderful read. In Kelly’s haunting, erotic, multi-layered, and intense “tales of Gothrotica,” the men are hot, the monsters sometimes sympathetic, sometimes horrible. Zombied Out, the remarkable novella that ends the volume, is suspenseful, gruesome, and downright terrifying in its depiction of a world both hyperbolic and familiar: a small band of heroic LGBT folks is menaced on all sides by brain-dead, murderously hungry heterosexuals. Like the best of his horror-writer forebears, Kelly turns the gothic into metaphor. The artful metaphors of Closet Monsters are stark, savage, and inescapable." –Jeff Mann, author of On the Tongue; Loving Mountains, Loving Men; and Edge.
"Daniel W. Kelly takes man-on-man erotica and homo horror storytelling to new steamy heights in this up-all-night read! You'll be begging for more, more, more! sexy and creepy tales from this talented superstar-in-the-making!" –David Rosen, Founder of InsightOutBooks
"Daniel W. Kelly terrifies as he excites and excites as he terrifies with this terrific collection that fuses gothic horror, gay erotica and literary fiction. You'll gasp in terror as you blush with excitement. Fun and fearsome, Closet Monsters is a steamy volume that is as smart as it is sexy." –Brian Malloy, author of The Year of Ice and Brendan Wolf
"Sexy, funny, and sometimes very disturbing, Closet Monsters is no mere horror-tinged erotica, and Dan Kelly doesn't just stand at the door peering into the vault of our deepest fears and desires; no, he leaps in head-first and drags us right in after him. It's a very dark place, this closet of the mind, but I'm glad Dan took me there. You will be too." –Brent Hartinger, author of Geography Club and The Order Of The Poison Oak
"Daniel W. Kelly’s writing grabbed me right away. The stories in Closet Monsters address the ‘human condition’ realistically, and stray further into non-sexual (literotic) territories. How refreshing to read a sex scene that not only doesn't bore me to tears, but actually ruffles my libido.” –Michael Huxley, editor of Wet Nightmares, Wet Dreams
Thanks to all the men above who took an interest in my writing and wrote such excellent reviews of my book! |

This Alyson Books collection about horny frat boys features authors like Jay Starre, Bearmuffin, Simon Shepherd, and me! “Breaking the Pact” is actually a revised version of an older story that was featured in Cherry Tales magazine (see below). The original story, “Losing It,” centered around high school seniors who make a pact to pop each other's cherries in a series of gang bangs. I did a re-write, changing the setup, setting, and age group, and “Breaking the Pact” was born…or should I say, porn. |

Hot collection from Alyson Books. All the stories get right to the good parts, with little or no foreplay. My featured story is “A Lot to Give and Take.” The studly narrator in this one has a problem—his cock is so big he’s never been able to fully penetrate any man (I wish I had that problem…). But then he has a run-in with an extremely experienced older gym owner, who needs something bigger than what he’s been getting…. |

This erotic anthology is long and thick…over 300 pages! It includes a personal favorite story of mine. “Cherry Pops” finds a man going bottoms-up for his bearish carpenter…who gets quite inventive with a box of frozen cherry pops. |

Wow. It’s been so long since I first got published, several times, in Firsthand magazine. This issue includes “Flesh Dancer.” A sexy young dancer in an empty dive bar lets a couple of older men participate in his show. The title was changed from my original, which was “Boy on the Box.” I guess there are issues with the word ‘boy,’ which I imagine sounds too young. |

This magazine includes the original story that became “Breaking the Pact” in Dorm Porn. My original title was “Losing it With a Bang.” The magazine shortened it to “Losing It.” I prefer the original title…considering the story is about losing your virginity in a gang bang. But hey, at least it got published. |

Ooh! I forgot all about this story! I like this one almost as much as “Cherry Pops” from Manhandled. The magazine changed the name to “Serving the Sergeant.” My original title was “Sergeant in Private.” Why? Because in this military story, a private gets a private moment with a sergeant…who hogties him and works him over good. |

My first published story! “Ménage-à-Quatre” was a fantasy inspired by a night at a club with my partner Danny in our first year together. We saw this beefy older couple all over each other on the dance floor, as were we. We all kept looking at and smiling at each other. Next to the club was a hotel with hourly rates (convenient, huh?). Danny and I joked about checking in to have a foursome with the other couple. Damn! Why didn’t we??? We were such goody-goodies (okay…he was…). Oh well. It makes for a good erotic fiction story. |

___________________________________________________________________ In January of 2006, I received an e-mail that my erotic horror story “Woof!” had won first place on this UK website. I had completely forgotten about submitting it! What a great surprise. Even better, Luke Preston, founder of bookpuppy, asked me to join the writing team! So, if you get linked up to bookpuppy.co.uk, you can read more of my stories. |

___________________________________________________________________ There’s nothing worse than shelling out up to 70 bux for a porn that looks mega-hot from the cover shot, but turns out to be a real ‘let down.’ As a staff reviewer for SexHerald.com, I help give readers an idea of what to expect from a film before they buy it. Sex Herald has a steadily expanding gay section of reviews, plus plenty of other great sex positive information and features. Check it out.
