Put your hands together for Bette Davis Eyes…twice

Here it is 28 years later, and Kim Carnes’ smash “Bette Davis Eyes” is still awesome. And what sets it over the top is a brilliant decision on the part of someone in the recording studio to just ONE time, near the end of the song, strike the double hand clap sound three times in a row instead of the usual pattern of double clap single clap (and you music lovers know exactly what I’m talking about). To this day, I listen to the song anticipating that moment, a moment that can still make my nipples hard! Incredible how one subtle creative nuance can make all the difference.
